Real Madrid back in training, Alaba partially rejoins the group

Real Madrid are back in training after enjoying a few days off and Carlo Ancelotti has received some good news. David Alaba rejoined the squad in training for the first few moments of the session and then completed the rest of the training working by himself as he keeps making significant progress in his recovery from knee surgery.

While Alaba will need a few weeks to improve his form and gain some confidence on that knee, his return will give Ancelotti more depth on the defensive line, which will be needed after Militao and Carvajal’s own knee injuries.

Real Madrid’s first game after the Christmas break will be played at Mestalla against Valencia this Friday. The match was scheduled to be played two months ago but the floods in the Valencia region forced LaLiga to reschedule it. It will be extremely important for Los Blancos to score the three points.
